Business Development/Marketing Internship Position Description
Sierra Piedmont, Inc. an Atlanta (Woodstock), Georgia based environmental consulting firm looks to retain a Business Development Intern to its growing staff. Our intention for this position is that it serves within the Business Development team as a champion and driving force to deliver strong, sustainable organic revenue and support our mission of providing THE superior client experience in our industry. The position will work as a member of our marketing and client acquisition team and report directly to our Director of Strategic Account Development.
Key Result Areas for this position are: technical communications, lead research and generation, tracking and reporting of key sales and marketing metrics, and marketing strategy creation. The ideal candidate should be working for a B.S. or M.S. in marketing, sales or a technical discipline.
Additionally, the successful candidate should be self-directed, energetic and have excellent organizational skills. Being consultative and assertive and having a passion for customer service is a must. A strong communication ability in both verbal and written form along with excellent presentation skills are necessary.
The position may include, but are not limited to:
Persona-Qualified Lead Generation: involves engaging with prospects by introducing new ideas, advocating for alternative paths, and asking questions that challenge the status quo. They will verify the right corporate buyers and influencers within accounts and document all engagement within Salesforce.
Needs Analysis Campaigns: utilize a variety of methods to communicate and research prospects. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Director, and position Sierra as integral to the success of the prospect and their company. They will also utilize market research to create a variety of connections with the prospect while effectively communicating valuable propositions. The ideal candidate will excel at this when there is a consistent outbound flow of marketing collateral and prospect research.
Salesforce CRM Maintenance requires updating accounts and prospects as they progress through the pipeline. Inputting detailed notes and reminders confirm accuracy and completeness of information in Salesforce.
Outbound Marketing Campaigns:
The goal is to drive potential prospects to Sierra by facilitating, creating, and/or distributing relevant content that provides value and increases brand awareness.
Tasks required would include:
• Create and execute new/existing service rollout and/or re-rollout campaigns
• Facilitate the creation of white papers, case studies, cut sheets and other corporate information.
• Create, distribute, follow-up, and compile customer surveys and responses
• Request and follow through with securing customer testimonials
• Report on marketing initiative results
• Assisting in developing the 2024-2025 yearly marketing strategy for; Trade Groups, Conferences, Outbound Marketing Correspondence, and Website Content for discussion and ratification into the business plan
The ideal candidate will have/exhibit the following:
